About ChinaEntry
Last updated: 2026-08-17
Why this site exists
ChinaEntry is an independent English-language guide for people visiting China for the first time. It answers the practical questions that generic travel sites skip: whether your passport needs a visa, how to pay when cards don't work, how to keep your apps alive behind the firewall, and how to get from the airport to your hotel without speaking Chinese.
How we keep information accurate
Visa and entry policy data is checked against official announcements from the China National Immigration Administration (NIA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Every policy-related section shows its last-verified date, and the visa checker reads from a single data source that we update when official lists change. Practical guides are written from real traveler experience and reviewed before publication.
Current policy data verified: 2026-08-17. If you spot an error, tell us at zggslzxgzjj@qq.com — corrections ship fast.
How we make money
Two ways, both disclosed: affiliate commissions when you book through clearly marked outbound links (you pay the same price), and referral fees when you ask us to connect you with a vetted local driver, guide, or agency. We never let either influence what we recommend.
What we are not
We are not a government body, a law firm, or a travel agency. Nothing here is legal or immigration advice — always confirm entry requirements with the Chinese Embassy or Consulate before you travel.
